Nikki Haley Announces She Is Running For Vice President
Nikki Haley, former Governor of South Carolina and former Ambassador to the United Nations announced she's running for vice president. She actually announced that she was running for president as a Republican, but as we all know the only potential contender for President Trump is Governor DeSantis of Florida. Assuming Trump gets the nomination for the Republican Party, everyone else that will run against him is just trying to get selected as his vice president.
And why not Nikki Haley? Trump already picked her once to be the US ambassador to the United Nations during his first term in office, and our political system demands that there are multiple people that run, we can't just give the nomination to Trump, and unless we change the laws to allow president for life, the Republicans do have to figure out some future after Trump, even if he is elected to a second term.
Trump already announced that he was running for his second term back in November of 2022, so Nikki Haley is just one of many potential non-serious competitors. In fact, the only thing she can point out about herself that is different from all of the Republicans that will run for president in 2024 is that she is a younger generation than Trump and Biden, and she has suggested that everyone over the age of 75 take a mental competency test. Not that in any other year she would not be a good candidate, but against Trump she's only a candidate for vice president.
In my blog post in January The MAGA Republican Party I detailed how Trump took over the Republican party in only 6 years by targeting Republicans that opposed him in the primaries, and that this House of Representatives is the first MAGA Republican-controlled House in history, so Trump is essentially running the House of Representatives.
And in Trump's four years in office he was able to stack the Supreme Court with so many middle-aged conservatives that the Supreme Court will be conservative for decades to come. With the help of the Senate he also effectively filled judge vacancies at every level of the United States, bringing the famously liberal 9th circuit close to evenly split between liberals and conservatives. And despite the mainstream media making fun of Trump for saying that the judges that he would appoint to the Supreme Court would, "automatically," overturn Roe v Wade, it happened, just like he said, so Trump is essentially running the Supreme Court as well.
Welcome to MAGA country.
