     Either the United States intended to cause all of the ripple effects of sanctioning Russia, or these were unintended consequences. When Russia invaded the Ukraine 2 years ago and the US seized their assets including their gold that we were holding, the rest of the countries on the planet that had gold reserves with us took notice and started requesting their gold back from the United States. What if the US got mad at them?      Poland and Russia have a very long history of animosity towards each other that goes back at least 800 years, with both invading and taking over each other's countries at different points in the past. Russia most recently participated in the complete partitioning of Poland 231 years ago, and Poland disappearing from the maps for the next 123 years.      February of 2023 sadly marks the one year anniversary of the war in the Ukraine. My first blog post in October of 2022 title A Call For Peace In The Ukraine laid out the history of how the United States backed a pro-western coup in the Ukraine in 2014 and then spent eight years arming the Ukrainians. In 2022 in only 18 days President Putin of Russia destroyed every single one of the weapons systems that the United States had given the Ukraine over 8 years, and then declared mission accomplished in March of 2022 as far as his stated goal of demilitarizing the Ukraine.      Of course the United States just sent more weapons, billions of dollars of more weapons, and so this war has dragged out for more than a year, all because of the United States, and all US government officials both current and former continue to repeat the US state department position on the Ukraine, which is that Putin is bad.
