How Trump Took Over The Republican Party.
Donald Trump arrived as a populist third party candidate where he packed stadiums with his Make America Great Again or MAGA rallies in 2016. He took over the Republican Party while openly saying that he was not a Republican, but because he was a Conservative he ran as a Republican. Before the first midterm of his presidency he used the primary process of 2018 to get rid of Republicans that opposed him. The Republicans In Name Only, or RINOs as they became known refused to get on board with Trump and kept getting primaried. Even after he was no longer president he kept doing it. Every 2 years he primaried multiple Republicans until everyone in the House of Representatives was either handpicked by him, or learned to play along, and Mike Johnson was finally elected Speaker of The House in the fall of 2023, at which point Trump controlled the House even though he was not even president.
Trump also appointed about as many Appellate Court judges in 4 years as Obama did in 8 years, and with Mitch McConnell's help got to appoint 3 of the sitting Supreme Court justices. Trump changed the political makeup of 3 of the appeals courts, the 2nd Circuit in New York, the 3rd Circuit in Philadelphia, and the 11th Circuit in Atlanta changed to conservative majorities. Since most case law is decided in the Appeals Courts, the Supreme Court only functions to correct them, and since the appointments of federal judges are for life Trump transformed the judiciary for decades to come. One of the first changes was when the Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade, something that happened when Trump was not even president, but as he promised, he had appointed justices that “automatically" would overturn the abortion law, kicking it back to the states to decide.
Then on October 7th 2023 Hamas launched a coordinated attack on Israeli citizens and foreign visitors out of the Gaza strip, killing around 1,200 civilians and taking over 250 civilian hostages. Within weeks the American media turned on Israel and started covering how Palestinian Americans wanted a ceasefire, and began ignoring the hostages. Then when the Republican controlled House of Representatives voted in early December to say that anti-Zionism or being anti-Israeli is being Antisemitic, more than half of all Democrats refused to agree, including 24 Jewish Democrats.
Was there any fallout from this? Yes, a lot. In a poll out of New York state at the beginning of March 2024, 53% of Jewish voters now say they will vote for Trump in 2024, and 39% say they will "continue” to vote for Republican candidates for Congress. This is a significant poll because while it was a fairly small sample (75 Jewish voters) over ¼ of all Jewish Americans live in New York state, and for the last 100 years the vast majority of Jewish voters chose the Democrat for president. Also, while Jewish Americans only account for around 2% of all voters, they make up 6% of the House of Representatives and 10% of the Senate, so if over half of all Jewish voters have suddenly become Republicans, will over half of the 24 Jewish Democrat members of the House also switch parties? And what about the 9 Democrat Senators, will half of them switch parties? A 3% shift in the House and a 4% shift in the Senate would be highly significant.
By March of 2024, the Israeli Defense Forces or IDF said they had killed around 16,000 Hamas soldiers and freed around 130 hostages, along the way around 30 hostages have died in captivity, and Hamas still holds around 100 Israeli and foreign hostages. Also by March the “Uncommitted” movement of Palestinian and Muslim groups to force Biden to ask Israel for a ceasefire resulted in Uncommitted winning 2 Democratic primary votes in Michigan, where more than half of both Hamtramck and Dearborn voted Uncommitted, not a coincidence because Hamtramck is apparently more than half Arab, and Dearborn is about half Arab. It is actually hard to tell because the US census counts all Arab League Arab Americans as Caucasians or Whites, even if they are from North Africa. Like any vocal minority, Palestinians and Arab Americans began protesting against Israel almost immediately after Hamas committed the terrorist attacks on October 7th 2023, and even though all Palestinian Americans combined only make up 1/20th of 1% of the United States, they found allies in other Arab American Muslims, who still only total 1% of the U.S. population, including people from 22 Arab League countries in the Middle East and North Africa. Not only do they only represent 1% of the U.S. population, Arab Americans only have 6 elected members in the House of Representatives, and there are zero Arab American senators.
So the Democrats chose to side with 1% of the U.S. population that has only 6 Reps and no Senators, while treating like garbage 2% of the U.S. that has 26 elected members in the House and 10 Senators. The Democrats and their Democrat controlled mainstream media chose to cover the 1% Arab protesters while ignoring the 2% Jewish Americans population. They demonized the Israelis and ignored the Hamas hostages, regularly quoting Hamas casualty figures, like when Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin repeated Hamas terrorist lies about civilian casualties in February of 2024, and still got it wrong, claiming that 25,000 women and children had been killed in Gaza. The Pentagon had to correct him, pointing out that the numbers he quoted were Hamas numbers for total casualties, not women and children, and that US Intelligence could not confirm any of it. Democrats seem to have been brainwashed by Arab Americans, and or Lloyd Austin is just a low IQ individual that cannot grasp facts, but the American people have been lied to by their own media, saying that the Israelis target women and children, even though the Israelis announce where they will be going next, and give plenty of time for civilians to leave an area before commencing bombardment and hostage rescue operations.
So it turns out that the Hamas-Israeli war spilled over into American politics, broke the Democrat party, and lost them their guaranteed Jewish vote for president. That might mean nothing on its own with Jewish voters only making up about 2% of the population, but at the same time Trump also made historic gains with Black and Hispanic voters, and Blacks make up about 14% of the United States while Hispanics make up about 19%. So how is Trump doing among Blacks and Hispanics?
Not that it was covered in the news but Trump got about 8% of the Black vote and 29% of the Hispanic vote in 2016, then in 2020 Trump got 12% of the Black vote and 32% of the Hispanic vote, which was a 50% increase among Black voters, and a 10% increase among Hispanic voters. This year in 2024 Trump is polling at 22% among Black voters in 6 of the 7 swing states (where the state was won by less than 3% in 2020), and new polls show that 46% of Hispanics now support Trump while only 40% say they will vote for Biden in 2024. That is an increase of 80% among Black voters, and more than 50% among Hispanic voters. For the majority of Hispanics to support Trump is huge, because Hispanics are not only the second largest ethnic group after non-hispanic whites in the United States, but also because there are 55 Hispanic Representatives in the House and 6 Hispanic Senators, ⅔ of which are Democrats, which represents the Hispanic electorate 2 years ago, not today, so if the Hispanic voters have shifted to majority Republican, will some of the Hispanic Representatives and Senators that are Democrats also switch parties?
The Democrats cannot survive without the coalition that they have built of these special interest groups. African Americans, Jewish Americans, and Hispanic Americans are absolutely essential to the voting block that is the Democrat Party. So who exactly do the Democrats have left if they no longer have the majority of Jewish and Hispanic voters, and they are only pulling around ¾ of Black voters? White college-educated Atheists? You cannot win federal elections with that. So I predict that as strange as it may seem, the Democrats have broken their party, and unless something changes, Democrats will never win the presidency again. Because the U.S. is set up to have 2 parties they will either get replaced by another party, or more likely, like Trump did with the Republicans, someone like Robert F Kennedy Jr will have to transform the Democrats into a viable, electable party again, because right now the math does not look good for them. The Democrats took their constituents for granted and refused to do anything to keep them in the party, so they left. Black Republicans are a thing again, and at this point over half of all Jewish and Hispanic voters may be Republicans. In 2024 Trump is polling so far ahead in all 7 swing states from 2020 that they will all be considered solid red Republican states for 2028, and so no Democrat will be able to win 270 electoral college votes in 2028 either.
I hesitate to say that people have awakened to the evils and lies of the Democrats… but maybe they have. Republicans have always sucked as well, which is why I typically vote 3rd party, and in many ways it was always hard to tell them apart from the Democrats because they were all warmongers. But Trump is like a 3rd party candidate, he is the Peace President that suppressed all wars around the planet during his presidency and was nominated for 4 Nobel Peace prizes for it. Maybe Trump has recreated the original Republican Party, the party of Lincoln, the party founded in Michigan to free the slaves. And maybe this MAGA Republican Party will be different from the RINO Republicans of the past, because this time around when Trump is president he will have much more power than in his last term when all of the Democrats and Republicans opposed him. He will have the support of the Republican Party, the House of Representatives, ⅓ of all Appellate Court judges, the Supreme Court, and he may even have the Senate on his side, along with the support of the majority of all White, Hispanic, and Jewish voters.
