The External Revenue Service

No one took Trump seriously when he talked about tariffs or said that he would like to get rid of the IRS and federal taxes in the United States. Trump was serious, as he always is, people make the mistake of thinking that Trump is a politician and so he lies. Trump never lies about anything. He's a businessman and author of The Art Of The Deal, so he knows how to negotiate. In the lead up to the 2024 election the entire Democrat controlled media mainstream media pushed the narrative that Trump's tariffs that he suggested at 25% blanket tariffs across the board would be a tax on the average American family of $3,800, Democrats from Kamala Harris to Alissa Slotkin repeated this lie. The trouble with the Democrats' narrative that using tariffs would result in a tax on American families is that Trump used tariffs the first time he was president and our gas prices stayed low, the price of food stayed low, nothing really went up. We didn't have outrageous inflation because of his use of tariffs. At an elementary school level understanding of tariffs, yes, a tariff on all imported items of 25% would be paid by the American Consumer, but that is not how Trump uses tariffs. Always remember The Art Of The Deal, Trump uses tariffs as a negotiating tool to get what he wants, whatever he wants.

Last time he used tariffs to get China to drop the tariffs they had on US products and to buy more US goods. This time he is going to do that to the whole world, imposing a 25% tariff across the board for everyone from Canada to Mexico to the European Union to Japan to India, all of our top trading partners will get a 25% tariff imposed unless they do exactly what Trump wants and that is to drop all tariffs on US goods and agree to buy more US stuff. If you are a car maker and want to build a car in Mexico (I'm looking at you Ford) all of those cars will definitely get a 25% tax slapped onto them, which will encourage Ford to shut down their brand new Mexican plant that they quickly built during Biden's time in office, and start building the Ford Maverick, Bronco Sport, and Escape in Detroit. As to all of the other countries we trade with, buy more of our stuff, buy more grain, buy more oil and gas, and wood, and just buy more of our Made in America and Made in the USA stuff in general so that more Americans can be employed. Living in a suburb of Detroit and having watched the fall of the American Auto industry and the collapse of Detroit, when I hear Trump talking about how Canada should be the 51st state because we already subsidize them so much by buying 20% of our cars from Canada, then Trump pauses and says, “I'd rather have those cars built in Detroit.” Yeah, so would I.

And so now we hear that Trump is going to establish the ERS, the External Revenue Service, as opposed to the Internal Revenue Service. Nice. Before 1910 the United States government functioned mostly off of money collected through imposed tariffs, duties, import taxes, and any other revenue stream that they could extract from other governments and foreigners, then in 1910 they decided that instead of running the federal government off of the money collected from foreign countries they would run the federal government with money collected from US citizens, and they established the Internal Revenue Service. Trump is serious. On January 20th 2025 we will witness the “birth” of the External Revenue Service, which is specifically designed to sunset and replace the IRS or Internal Revenue Service, and if Trump succeeds we will all stop paying federal income tax, at least until the Democrats are elected again and reverse everything Trump does.
