How Trump Used Tariff Threats To End Fentanyl Deaths.

Democrats and opponents of Donald Trump apparently are only capable of thinking on the first level of cause and effect, and are unable to understand that the way Trump uses tariffs are as a threat, not necessarily meant to be imposed, yet Democrats continually run thought experiments where if Trump imposed these tariffs then the American people would have to pay more because that's how tariffs work, and people with IQs below 115 accept this on face value because they too cannot see beyond first level reasoning. Never mind that Trump has been president of the United States before and got into trade Wars with countries like China before, and the last time he did this 8 years ago China ended up caving and agreeing to buy even more grain than they had been previously.

What do I mean by caving? I mean giving Trump exactly what he wants, exactly when he wants it. This is the man that wrote a book called The Art of The Deal, so he uses all of the obscure powers of the president to his negotiating advantage, so 8 years ago he used tariffs on China to get them to lower the tariffs they had on US goods and ended up protecting the US farmers until China caved, lowered their tariffs on US goods, and ultimately agreeing to buy more US grain. All of Trump's tariffs that he placed on China are still there, but China made power moves during Biden’s time in office like leasing out the Panama Canal, while doing nothing to stop the fentanyl produced mostly in Wuhan China that enters the United States through the borders with Canada and Mexico.

So as soon as Trump got back in office in his second term he started threatening to use tariffs again on everyone that he thought had an unfair deal with the US, and really just to get exactly what he wants, exactly when he wants it. As soon as the tariffs were announced on Columbia for rejecting 2 planeloads of deported criminal Colombian citizens, within days they announced that they would be sending their own plane so Trump didn't impose the tariff. Panama just got a visit from the US Secretary of State and not even a threat of a tariff, and are now ending their lease with China.

Then Trump announced that if Canada and Mexico refused to patrol their borders with the United States and stop Fentanyl and illegal immigrants from entering America he would impose a 25% tariff on all goods coming from Canada and Mexico. After it was pointed out that almost half of all US gasoline is made from Canadian Oil and those refineries can't switch to US oil, Trump announced that Canadian Oil would only have a 10% tariff, but that everything else from Canada and Mexico would get the 25% tariff. China would also get an additional 10% tariff on top of existing tariffs if they didn't permanently shut down all Fentanyl Labs in China.

It took less than a week for both Mexico and Canada to go from outrage, to threats, to acceptance, and then both agreed to send 10,000 troops each to the border to be stationed permanently whose job was to block fentanyl and illegal immigrants from entering the United States. A week, that was it, and then Trump paused their tariffs for a month to see how they progressed. But from the moment the tariffs were announced the Mainstream Media and Democrat propagandists continued the stale old lie that graced the fronts of the Kamala Harris for president fliers, that there would be a Trump tax of $3,800 on American families if Trump was elected, based on his proposed use of tariffs which Democrats assured people had to be paid by American consumers.

Democrats are dumb. Not only did they ignore the fact that there was no inflation pre-pandemic due to Trump starting a tariff war with China in his first term, but $3,800 was the exact number that inflation had cost the average American household due to 19% inflation over 4 years under Biden and Harris, but they also refused to ever admit that no Trump tariff has ever negatively impacted Americans, and that Trump has rarely even needed to impose the tariffs. Countries usually cave and give Trump exactly what he wants, exactly when he wants it to avoid the tariffs being imposed, like both Canada and Mexico just did. Why did Canada and Mexico cave? Because both Canada and Mexico rely on the United States for 30% to 40% of their entire Gross Domestic Product or GDP, while the US only relies on Canada and Mexico for less than 1.5% of the entire US GDP, so a tit for tat trade war with the US was unwinnable.

With more than 100,000 US fentanyl deaths per year fentanyl is the leading cause of death in 18 to 45 year olds in the United States, and Trump is finally doing what no one else would do, he is stopping fentanyl, in less than a week he has a commitment to stop fentanyl at the northern and southern borders of the United States, and now we will wait and see over the next month if they actually do it. To avoid extra 10% tariffs China can just shut down all of the Fentanyl Labs in their country, if our government knows where the labs are, China certainly should know where they are and how to shut them down.
