Jared Is The Reincarnation Of Hitler On Silicon Valley
In Mike Judge’s Silicon Valley the character of Jared Dunn experiences never-ending suffering and no Fan Theory seems to explain what causes it, or why in Season 2 Episode 5 Jared speaks German in his sleep when sleeping in Richard's room. Translations on Reddit by claimed native German speakers agree his expressions are disturbing, with phrases like “That's what they want. They were all dead. I will slit their throats,” said quietly at first, and then yelling, “I'll sneak up on him and slit his throat. Get back in the cage bitch.” When Richard asks about it in the morning Jared denies speaking German. Or why Jared quotes the title of a Nazi propaganda film Triumph of The Will and what was written over the gates of Auschwitz, “Work Will Set You Free,” in Season 2 Episode 9.
The character of Jared is played by Zach Woods, a 6 ft 3 slender improv actor with haunting eyes, and the idea for night speaking came from Zach Woods himself. Once when was in college he sat up and talked in his sleep and his roommate later told him that he said, “I hate the Jews.” Now, Zach Woods is Jewish, so the Silicon Valley writers must have asked permission to adapt that story, thinking it was odd that a Jewish guy would say, “I hate the Jews.” Zach thought it was some sort of dark Jungian self, but the Silicon Valley writers obviously took it to an extreme, asking: Why would he do that? Why would he sit up and say that? Maybe he's the reincarnation of a Nazi… maybe Hitler… and so they had him speak German about disturbing subjects.
Up until Season 2 Episode 5 all of Jared's ad libbed backstories were about foster care and how it had been extremely difficult for him. After the writers decided to have him speak German at night they must have green-lit him to lean into the performance for the rest of his ad libs, and then he started ad libbing things about having to choose which half of his family to save, being a prostitute on the streets, doing manicures on the street, and specific Nazi phrases like “Triumph of the will. Work will set you free,” just 4 episodes later. In the final season it is revealed that Jared was put up for adoption because his rich family already had two kids and found it inconvenient because they liked having all four sitting in one row of first class for flights, but then immediately regretted giving him up but didn't try to get him back, just had another kid and gave him the exact same name they had given Jared which wasn't Jared, Gavin Belson at Hooli had called him Jared one time because he didn't care to learn his name, and Jared hadn't corrected him so went by Jared in the show.
There are only two explanations in-Universe for why Jared would speak German but deny it, either because of his extensive background stories of foster care, trauma, abusive families and being raised by the state where it is entirely possible that he was raised at some point by a foster family that were neo-Nazis that forced him to learn German, and somehow he has split that information away in a split personality and has suppressed it because of trauma. That's a possibility, but it doesn't explain the overall arc of his suffering. The Western World doesn't accept reincarnation in general, so people don't understand why Jared's character is so tormented. He was a fan favorite from early on, and most fans found the season 6 episode where he met his birth family to be overly cruel and unnecessary. Well, yes, it is overly cruel and unnecessary, unless he's the reincarnation of a Nazi, and then it would make perfect sense why he is suffering in this lifetime.
Now why this could be viable is because Erlich Bachman once had to explain to Richard that while being gay is allowed in Silicon Valley, Christianity is not allowed, and Gilfoyle is an open Satanist. Then there is the fake Guru that gives bad advice to Gavin Belson, but Gavin does go to Tibet and meditates with actual Tibetan Buddhist monks, and at one point Gavin mentioned something about Buddhism and why he gave away a patent as a Buddhist Act of something, as if he thinks only rich people could be Buddhists, and one of the engineers he had just hired raises his hand and says, “Well I'm a Buddhist too, and I would never do that.” Indicating that Buddhism is in fact the eschatology of Silicon Valley, Now within Buddhism there is the Dharma which is the law and the truth, and part of Dharma is that there is Karma and that there is Reincarnation or Rebirth, so that perfectly explains the suffering of Jared. If he's the reincarnation of a Nazi, the best Nazi to choose would be Hitler, so he's the reincarnation of Hitler. Now they had to have run this by Zach Woods just to adapt his story and must have gotten his permission.
Zach Woods joins a long list of Jewish actors, directors, and producers that portrayed Hitler or Nazis in a negative light in seven different TV shows and movies over the last sixty years, beginning in 1965 with Hogan's Heroes which ran through 1971 and continued to be shown in reruns all throughout the 1970s, where the actor playing Colonel Klink, Werner Klemperer, was famously a Jewish actor that enjoyed portraying Colonel Klink as a bumbling idiot. In 1967 Mel Brooks released The Producers, including the attempted Broadway flop, Springtime for Hitler in Germany. In 1980 The Blues Brothers portrayed neo Nazis as inept, bumbling idiots under director John Landis. In 2000 Little Nicky by Adam Sandler posited that Adolf Hitler is in a Christian Hell and the Devil has him dressed as a French Maid and shoves a pineapple up his ass every day, or multiple times a day. In the American version of The Office (2005 - 2013) co-produced by Howard Klein and Ben Silverman the character of Dwight Schrute says his father killed 20 men and spent the remainder of WWII in an Allied POW camp, and is portrayed as both weird and powerless in the series. In Silicon Valley (2014 - 2019) Jared speaks German at night, which indicates the reincarnation of Hitler. And in JoJo Rabbit (2019) which Taika Waititi wrote and directed, Taika also stars as Hitler, the imaginary friend of a Hitler Youth, lampooning Hitler like Mel Brooks did in The Producers.
All seven of these projects can be contrasted with Quentin Tarantino’s 2009 Inglourious Basterds which is not portrayed as a comedy and didn't portray Hitler as absurd, inept, or suffering, and the Nazi played by Christoph Waltz is exceedingly charismatic, likely all because Quinton Tarantino is not Jewish, so Inglourious Basterds falls into the category of every other WWII movie that includes Nazis going all the way back to The Maltese Falcon, and including every Hollywood movie that ever used a bad guy with a German accent.
Buddhism is clearly the eschatology of Silicon Valley, so Jared is the reincarnation of Hitler or another Nazi, and that is what explains why he suffers as badly as he does. But considering the vast majority of everyone in the West does not accept that reincarnation is a fact of existence, it just appears that Jared suffers for absolutely no reason to most people. From this view Jared’s suffering is not funny, there's no lesson to be learned from it, and there is also no explanation for why he speaks German other than some Fan Theories embracing the Nazi Foster Parent option, but no Fan Theory explains why he suffers. Jared's character being the reincarnation of Adolf Hitler is a Hollywood version of a Buddhist afterlife, not consistent with actual buddhadharma, because the Buddha said that it is extremely difficult and rare to be born in human form and that soldiers go to Hell, so if soldiers go to Hell, Hitler definitely went to Hell, or maybe he became a Hungry Ghost, or was reborn as an Animal, but there is absolutely no chance Hitler got another human body. In the teachings of Judaism there is no Hell, so Hitler would be isolated from God for all eternity in a sort of purgatory, which is not as satisfying as a pineapple shoved up his ass in Hell, or being tormented for a lifetime like Jared.
Because Hogan’s Heroes, The Producers, The Blues Brothers, Little Nicky, The Office, Silicon Valley, and JoJo Rabbit are all presented as comedies, that appears to be a safe space for Jewish actors, directors, and producers to confront Hitler, the Nazis, and the Holocaust, with Hitler either ending up in a Christian Hell like in Little Nicky, or on Earth in a Buddhist unfortunate rebirth where he works in Silicon Valley, both being Hell-like states where Hitler is not only separated from God (since no Christianity is allowed in Silicon Valley) but also where he is in constant suffering, which explains why Jared suffers so much in the show Silicon Valley. But the teachings of Buddhism in the same sutra that says that soldiers go to Hell also says actors go to Hell simply for distracting people that already tend to be distracted in Samsara, the land of suffering.
So the bar is very low for going to Hell in Buddhism, that's why they have the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path and within the Eightfold Path there's an understanding of Right Livelihood and Wrong Livelihood, which is why people that are either Buddhist practitioners or that respect the teachings of the Buddha don't keep weapons or poison in their house, and don't sell animals, meat, or drugs that cloud the mind like alcohol. From other sutras the admonishment against distracting people like actors includes anyone that sings or dances for entertainment, and in today's world, that would include any content creators for YouTube, Instagram, etc, because by distracting people that already tend to be distracted, singers, dancers, YouTube creators and anyone else that works in entertainment are also going to Hell, so again, the bar is very, very low in Buddhism for what might get you sent to Hell.
I refuse to write fiction because I believe in reincarnation and want to avoid going to Hell. Is the Buddhist Hell the exact same as the Christian Hell? No, because of reincarnation again. In Buddhism you can end up in Hell for a lifetime, but can repent, make amends, and get reborn as a human again. Either way, buddhadharma says that all of the actors on Silicon Valley are going to a Buddhist Hell when they die for at least one lifetime. And FYI the Dalai Lama says that first person shooter video games create the same Karma as actually shooting someone, so also avoid first person shooters and any video games that involve killing anything.
Not believing in reincarnation doesn't protect you from being reincarnated in Hell or on Earth, like not believing in gravity doesn't keep you from falling down, both reincarnation and gravity are facts of existence, you don't have to believe for them to affect you. But only the Indian traditions believe in reincarnation, including Jains, Buddhists, and Hindus. The Jains are staunch Atheists saying they are positive that no God exists, while the Buddhists just don't ever teach anything about God and the Buddha refused to ever answer any questions about a God or god's, so like Jains, Buddhists are considered Atheists. The Hindus call God Brahman, and he has 3 aspects: Brahma, Shiva, and Vishnu. Hindus believe in reincarnation so much they exploited it and created the Caste System thousands of years ago to trap Untouchables in living Hell, forcing them to slaughter animals and clean animal feces which makes them be reborn again as a Dalit Untouchable.
